Counting Game with Everyday Things

Use this for a short counting activity with things already around you. It gives eight one-sentence challenges that build gradually and one stretch challenge.

Works inChatGPTClaudeGemini

Make a counting game for my [AGE]-year-old using things we can see or touch right now at [PLACE, E.G. THE KITCHEN, THE PARK, THE LIVING ROOM]. Give me 8 short challenges, such as "find three red things", with the numbers going up gradually from [START NUMBER] to [END NUMBER]. Add one challenge that is a little harder for when they are ready. Keep the instructions in one short sentence each, so I can read them aloud.

Tip: Let your child pick the next number. Having a choice keeps them interested.

What to fill in

Before you send it, replace the parts in [square brackets] with your own details:

  • Age
  • Start number
  • End number

If the AI gets it wrong

If a challenge needs something you do not have, ask it to swap that one for something in your room.

How to use this prompt

  1. Press Copy this prompt.
  2. Open ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini and paste it into a new chat.
  3. Replace the [BRACKETS] with your details, then send it.
  4. If the first answer is close but not right, reply with what to change. Short follow-ups work well.

Everything here is free. The free versions of the big chat tools are enough. Keep private details such as account numbers, passwords and full addresses out of any AI chat.
