Learn a Letter with a Short Story

Use this when your child is learning letters. It writes a very short story full of words with that letter, with small questions along the way and a find-around-the-house ending.

Works inChatGPTClaudeGemini

Write a very short story to help my [AGE]-year-old learn the letter [LETTER]. Use many simple words that start with [LETTER] and a few that only contain it. After every two sentences, pause with a small question my child can answer out loud, such as "What sound did you hear at the start?" Keep the whole thing under 120 words and finish with three words to look for around the house.

Tip: Point to the letter on a page or card while you read.

What to fill in

Before you send it, replace the parts in [square brackets] with your own details:

  • Age
  • Letter

If the AI gets it wrong

If a word does not really start with the letter, point it out kindly and ask the AI to fix it. It is a good chance to practice together.

How to use this prompt

  1. Press Copy this prompt.
  2. Open ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini and paste it into a new chat.
  3. Replace the [BRACKETS] with your details, then send it.
  4. If the first answer is close but not right, reply with what to change. Short follow-ups work well.

Everything here is free. The free versions of the big chat tools are enough. Keep private details such as account numbers, passwords and full addresses out of any AI chat.
